The departure of Dr. Sanghamitra Chaudhuri
Dr. Sanghamitra Chaudhuri or Dr. Sonai as she is popularly known will leave our program after serving for two years. Dr. Chaudhuri will return to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she will be teaching at University of Minnesota. Dr. Sanghamitra Chaudhuri, we thank you for your great teaching and student support and wish you a very bright future.

IRB office hours at 215-A PAES Building
ORRP staff comes to PAES to help researchers and graduate and undergraduate students who are preparing Behavioral and Social Sciences Institutional Review Board submissions and exemption requests. Sessions navigate IRB forms and policies and review procedures. Sessions occur every Wednesday, 1-3 pm in PAES 215-A. The next meetings will be on May 1 and May 8.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides fellowships for graduating U.S. college seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study abroad for one academic year. Recent B.S./B.A. graduate, master’s students, doctoral candidates, young professionals and artists can apply for these opportunities for personal development and international experience.
Recipients will plan their own programs involving university course work, independent library or field research, classes in a music conservatory or art school, special projects in the social or life sciences, or a combination. Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program (DDRA)
The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program (DDRA) offers grants for graduate students to travel for specific research, study opportunities, or dissertation research in modern foreign languages and specific area studies conducted in another country. The Retail Speed networking event is scheduled Wednesday, April 17th at 4:30pm. Speed Networking is just like speed dating. You will have 10 minutes to talk with an employer and then will move onto the next employer. Please bring your resume and dress professionally.

DACUM and SCID workshop
DACUM (Developing A CurriculUM) will be held May 6-10. This is a training activity in which the trainees become certified as DACUM Facilitators, which prepares students to conduct two-day job/occupational analysis workshops for companies or educators. All OSU students are entitled to a 50% discount, which brings the normal $1550 registration fee down to $775.
Additionally, the SCID (Systematic Curriculum and Instructional Development) workshop allows OSU students a 50% discount, which brings the $1450 registration fee down to $725. This workshop will help trainers and post-secondary instructors to conduct a needs analysis, task verification, task analysis, develop a competency profile, and develop competency-based instructional materials.

May session begins Monday, May 6 and ends Friday, May 31
May session begins Monday, May 6 and ends Friday, May 31. Any student who has been enrolled full-time during spring semester (12 credits for undergraduate students; 8 credits for graduate or graduate-professional students; 3 credits for post-candidate doctoral students) and who is not graduating (with the exception of an associate degree) will get a tuition credit for a maximum of three credits during May session. The tuition credit will include only General, Instructional, and Non-Resident Fees.
To search for May session courses, please go to buckeyelink.osu.edu and click Schedule of Classes in the Academics section and then select Summer 2013 from the pull-down menu and click “Go”. Again, select a subject from the Course Subject pull-down menu and click “Additional Search Criteria.” Then choose May Session from the Session pull-down menu and click “Search.”
As these courses are condensed, taking more than four credits during the May session is not encouraged and the May session tuition credit can only be used for up to 3 credit hours.
