Congrats, Dr. Sunny L. Munn!

Our PhD student, Sunny L. Munn received her doctoral degree on Sunday, August 12th at the Schottenstein Center.

She has completed five degrees from The Ohio State University, including two undergraduate degrees, two master’s degrees and now a Ph.D. in Workforce Development and Education! Sunny has also served as a GTA and lecturer for our WDE program.

Her dissertation was called “Developing a Work-Life System Using Types of Organizational Culture: An Integrated Perspective of Individuals, Organizations and Policy” which was  guided by Dr. Josh Hawley. This research included an investigation of the work-life system: government, organizations and individuals; and the three dimensions: public policy, work-life initiatives and work-life balance, including the use of work-life initiatives and outcomes of organizational performance through the lens of organizational culture.

Dr. Tonette S. Rocco, full professor at Florida International University is Sunny’s mother and a 1997 doctoral graduate of our WDE program. President Gee even recognized Sunny and her mother in his graduation speech!

We can see Dr. Sunny L. Munn at OSU anytime! She has already started to work as the project manager and post-doctoral researcher for the Ohio Education Research Center (OERC).

We wish you a very bright future, Dr. Munn!
